Sensei Frank Orzolek

Sensei Frank Orzolek has been visually impaired since the age of 10. Through the martial arts and the development of his other senses, he has embraced the techniques and philosophy of Karate and works to transfer them to all areas of his life. In his teaching, he aspires to emphasize the heightening of awareness, instincts, energy, concentration, respect and the trusting of oneself through discipline and focus.

He has been a martial artist for over 30 years, and holds a 4th Degree Black Belt and an advanced Teaching Certification in Goju-jitsu-ryu, and is currently studying Gojuryu, Goju-jitsu-ryu, Jeet Kune Do and Japanese Swordsmanship.

He currently teaches at Oliver Beach Martial Arts, Practical Martial Arts as well as in area schools including the comprehensive Karate program at the Maryland School for the Blind.

Sensei Orzolek strives in his teaching of the martial arts to convey the importance of being strong and competent in the practice of Karate in order to be gentle and confident.

Relating to each student as an individual is something that Sensei Orzolek strives to achieve. He frequently attends conferences and workshops to continue to develop his understanding of human development and his teaching skills. He often consults with child development specialists in order to best relate to and teach his students.

Instructor Dan Sines

Dan Sines has been studying martial arts since age 4. He began his teachings at Elite Martial Arts studying the art of Ninjutsu. He received his black belt in Ninjutsu on April 25, 1999 from Sensei David Street. At age 12 Dan met Frank Orzolek and began to study GojuRyu on the side. On December 21, 2001 Dan received the rank of Nidan (2nd degree Black Belt) in Ninjutsu. His prior knowledge of the martial arts allowed him to progress in GojuRyu. On July 12, 2003 Dan was granted the rank of Shodan, Black Belt in GojuRyu. At age 19 Dan continues his studies of the martial arts by training in Ninjutsu, GojuRyu, Jeet Kune Do, Brazilian Jujitsu and the art of the Japanese sword.
